Thierry Henry has forked out a reported £8 million to ex-wife Claire Merry in their divorce settlement. The couple were married for just four years, and have a 3-year old daughter called Tea. They met on the set of the Va-Va-Voom Renault Clio ads in 2001.
Claire filed for divorce in September 2007 citing Henry's unreasonable behaviour. It was claimed at the time that Thierry had been secretly dating a make-up artist behind Merry's back, and that she'd uncovered a string of saucy text messages and emails between the pair. Henry was represented in the case by Princess Diana's lawyers, Mishcon de Reya, while Claire appointed Fiona Shackleton, the solicitor hired by Paul McCartney that Heather Mills famously drenched by throwing a glass of water over her in open court
